ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

"dancing is how i breathe." - Robin Wilson

"Fragments of Bone" will be very special evening of dance, memory and myth-making.

Robin Wilson, choreographer, teacher, performer and a founding member of the revered dance company, Urban Bush Women, curates an evening of dance + performance in the intimate confines of the new Carr Center Performance Studio, showcasing some of Metro Detroit's best and brightest early career dancers and choreographers.

Robin sees teaching, artmaking, and activism as easy companions – giving voice to untold stories and giving tools for others to speak their truth. She sees no contradiction between making art, teaching others to discover the artist within, teaching others to understand their history and connection to the greater good and being an advocate for the arts and communities.

Robin is a recently retired Associate Professor of Dance at the University of Michigan.

This performance will take place in the new Carr Center Performance Studio, located at 15 E. Kirby Street in the heart of Detroit's m idtown cultural center.
