Analytical Challenges for Cannabis-Infused Foods -Zachary Eisenberg

The legalization of recreational cannabis in California has opened exciting new growth opportunities for food manufacturers in the state. Accurately dosed cannabis-infused edibles, beverages, and consumables are being developed to appeal to a broad new base of casual users. Regular analytical testing is vital to developing consistent and safe-to-consume products. Come 2018 testing will also be mandated. This talk will discuss the state testing requirements likely to go into effect, the pros and cons of different testing methodologies, and the importance of choosing a reputable laboratory.

Zachary Eisenberg (MBA - Ross) is Vice President and grandson of the founder of Anresco Laboratories, an analytical laboratory headquartered in San Francisco. For over 74 years, Anresco has provided analytical services primarily to food and food-related industries. Though Zach's degree is in business, he grew up in the laboratory having participated in nonvoluntary lab internships from the age of 12.
