About this event
Hugo Crosthwaite presents his new animated film, in concert with expressionist Butoh dancer Theresa Magario and live, original music performed by MALU.
...a rare, original and intimate art performance experience that you can't miss ... and won’t forget...
Born 1971 in Tijuana, Mexico, Hugo Crosthwaite is a contemporary figurative artist best known for his black and white graphite and charcoal drawings. He is represented by Luis De Jesus gallery in Los Angeles. His work is held in private collections as well as museum collections including that of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Museum of Latin American Art, Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, and The San Diego Museum of Art.
Theresa Magario™, introvert native of Massachusetts, improbably found their way from visual arts and writing onto the performance art stage. They explored stagecraft at CAVE, Brooklyn New York from 2008-2012 under several instructors renowned in their fields of practice: butoh and noguchi taiso. Theresa Magario™ is slowly developing a body of solo work, and collaborating on visual arts projects. They remain an introvert.
California based classical and electronic musician M A L U is known for combining both extremes to create new sounds and fresh beats that will give you life. It is by mixing the different color sounds of beating arpeggiatos, the strong character of low deep kicks and her violin solos that make her music so refreshing. M A L U has performed in Europe, Asia, US, Canada and Mexico.
Admission includes a pre-performance reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres, and a post-performance conversation with the artists. Two time slots are available, but space is limited so get your tickets today!
