With the move away from print journalism, the documentarian's role has increasingly supplanted that of the journalist in tackling current events and investigative reportage. Bringing together important voices from both worlds, this panel will explore the questions raised by this trend: What room does this shift leave for creativity, subjectivity, and personal perspective in filmmaking? Is there an obligation to be objective? How does the business element of filmmaking fit into the ethics of film as journalism?
