The Business Case for Secure & Accurate Pennsylvania Elections:
A Conversation with the Philadelphia Business Community
Elections are the cornerstone of our republic. Unfortunately, however, much of our election infrastructure is outdated and vulnerable to cyberattacks. The ability of foreign or domestic forces to manipulate election results undermines voter confidence, suppresses turnout, and ultimately threatens our democracy. In order to maintain a healthy business climate, our elections must be fair, secure, and accessible.
Election integrity is not a partisan issue.
Join us on October 16th for drinks and conversation with Kathy Boockvar, Senior Advisor to PA Governor Tom Wolf on Election Modernization; Chris Jacobs, CEO of Communally; Anna Shipp, Executive Director, Sustainable Business Network; and Sarah Bonk, Founder of Business for America, about why election integrity matters to business and what steps state and federal officials are taking to upgrade election security.
For the business community, election integrity is more than a matter of principle — it’s an urgent economic priority. An unstable political system hinders economic progress and competitiveness, and distracts from other challenges facing our country.
Here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, an active debate is underway over how to improve how our elections and democracy work. The Governor and state legislature are exploring ideas like same-day and automatic voter registration, modernizing absentee voting, requiring the use of paper ballots, ending gerrymandering, enacting campaign finance reform, and more.
The views of business leaders are critical to this discussion. Business for America (BFA) is dedicated to educating and mobilizing business leaders to support bipartisan improvements to our electoral and governance systems. We want to hear your thoughts about how to strengthen the democratic process.
Let’s not allow political dysfunction to endanger the most basic tenet of our democracy: our vote. Pleaset join us and learn what you as a business leader can do to improve election integrity across Pennsylvania and the nation.
