Join the Burke and Hare Murder Tour as you follow in the footsteps of Scotland's most notorious serial killers - William Burke and William Hare.  Led by renowned Burke and Hare murders historian John Baxter, you will visit locations key to the story as you discover what life was like in Edinburgh in the early 1800's and exactly how the crimes unfolded.  Using police reports, witness statements and court transcripts, John will bring the story to life as you investigate one the most shocking crimes in British judicial history and the impact this had across the country.


Important Tour information:

Tour guide will be wearing a name badge for identification purposes. 

Please arrive around 15 minutes early as tour will leave promptly.

The tour will last approximately 1 hour 45 minutes with a route length of around 1.5 miles. 

This event takes place outside and as such you should dress appropriately for the weather with sturdy footwear recommended.

The route will include small, steep hills and steps and some uneven ground, particularly on cobbled areas.

Tour not suitable for children under the age of 14.  Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
