This screening and discussion explores the social, ethical and aesthetic aspects of different modes of representation, focussing on the link between experimental documentary film practices and quantitative social studies such as the Index of Multiple Deprivation.
The occasion will bring together the films of artist-filmmakers Margaret Salmon (Glasgow) and Janey Walklin (Leeds) with contributions from Anna McLauchlan, Lecturer in Critical Human Geography at the University of Leeds.
Following the screening Salmon and McLauchlan will engage in conversation around their inter-related practices.
