FEATURING A LIVE MUSICAL SCORE
FOR BUSTER KEATON'S ONE WEEK!
This month the Jacob Herold Folk Jazz Project will combine the spontaneity of live, improvised music with a classic Buster Keaton silent short film. In creating interplay between the musicians and the film’s action, the performance will provide the audience with an opportunity to reminisce on classic American film while simultaneously enjoying in-the-moment musical creations by superb, local jazz musicians. Event-goers are sure to recognize the energetic style of percussionist Randy Bowen, enjoy the diverse musicality of returning Springs bassist Ian Hutchison, and appreciate the novel approach of multi-instrumentalist and producer Jacob Herold as he leads the group to give a new voice to a timeless Keaton masterpiece.
As a prelude to the main feature, the band will interweave its acousto-electronic sounds with ambient visual projections. The performance will be a special occasion to experience a unique collaboration of the arts: a night of not just a movie or a concert, but a combination of the two into one splendid event.
