About the Brimbank Community Fund

Established in 2009 through a partnership with Brimbank City Council, the Brimbank

Community Fund (BCF) is a sub-fund of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. It is led by an independent committee of volunteer local leaders with the aim of supporting some of Brimbank’s most vulnerable residents through grassroots solutions.

The fund has grown significantly over the last seven years and has a corpus of almost $300,000. We want to reach half a million dollars by 2019 - our tenth anniversary.

Over the last three years the fund has distributed $33,000 to eight local charities assisting young people with their education, employment and wellbeing in Brimbank.

Ardoch Youth Foundation – Lego Robotics program at Sunshine Secondary College

Jesuit Community College – ‘Ready Set Work Barista’ training young people with barista skills

Migrant Resource Centre North West – ‘DnD Music Group’ for diverse disabled young people

Melbourne City Mission/WYPIN – ‘Engage to Succeed’ employment program for migrant and refugee young people

CoHealth Arts Generator – ‘Be a Brother’ alcohol awareness program for African young men

L2R – ‘Panda Squad’ dance program for young children
