Event description

Description

Join the Brevard Whiskey Club of Charlotte for this month's tasting event! We are branching out and trying something a little new this month in the world of cognac! We would like to introduce you to Rémy Martin - "One of the finest spirits in the world"!

Cognac is a type of brandy, a spirit made from fruit. In the case of cognac, the fruit is exclusively grapes grown in the Cognac region of France, which are known for their aromatic superiority. The use of the name cognac is protected under French law. It is AOC, Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée, and there are three main requirements to satisfy: First, it must be made from specific grape varieties, such as Ugni Blanc. Second, it must be twice distilled in copper pot stills. Third, it must be aged in oak barrels for at least two years.

The House of Rémy Martin will forever be intertwined with the lands of Charente where it was founded in 1724. It is in this small piece of French terroir that our signature blend of Grande and Petite Champagne crus was born, together forming Cognac Fine Champagne. This month, we explore 4 selections of cognac that are equally remarkable, including:

  • Rémy Martin V

  • Rémy Martin VSOP

  • Rémy Martin 1738

  • Rémy Martin XO Excellence

We will explore how cognac is made, how to drink and pair it as well as explore various blends from The House of Rémy Martin. You won't want to miss this one! Get your tickets today!
