The B.R.A.S.S. House, Inc. is a 501c3 organization.The B.R.A.S.S House Inc. will provide structured supportive housing for homeless mothers, ages 18-30, and their children, prenatal to 5 years of age. Program participants will be allowed to reside in the home for up to 24 months, if they meet program requirements.The program will offer case management, educational and supportive services. Our purpose is to provide the necessary linkages to programs, resources, and supportive services that will assist parents in obtaining stable employment, education, and life skills that will empower them to become independent and productive individuals. The B.R.A.S.S House, Inc. will provide the families with a safe environment to address the issues that led to their homelessness; and the support and encouragement needed to achieve their goals of economic and social independence (self-sufficiency).
Program participants will be referred by emergency shelters, treatment programs, other agencies, and/or self-referred with documentation proving homelessness. With staff assistance, each resident will be required to develop a family plan that includes education, employment, and parenting objectives for themselves and children. Family plans will be assessed quarterly using the SMART goal system. Families will have to adhere to program guidelines, including hours allowed to remain in house during the day and a nightly curfew. Each head of household will be mandated to secure and maintain income for entire family, high school diploma, parenting certificate, and job readiness skills.
