Training Description:

This session will briefly review some of the neurological research related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in laymen's terms. Specifically, brain research related to academics/learning, social, sensory and regulation will be addressed. Practical implications of the findings of this research will also be discussed.

Training Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe how academic and learning challenges in ASD are related to the brain.
  • Discuss the sensory systems, regulation and social neurological research and how they are linked.
  • Overview the linkages between observable behavior and neurological research.
