Greetings to all Garden Lovers and Bike Enthusiasts!!
The Brooklyn Queens Land Trust is a volunteer run non-profit organization that owns and manages over 30 community gardens within Brooklyn and Queens area.
We would like to invite you to join us for our First Annual
*BQLT Garden Bike Tour*
Spend the day with us as we travel throughout Brooklyn exploring some of our most gorgeous, vibrant and interesting community gardens.
Come and bear witness to the urban farm movement happening in Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, Bedford Stuyvesant and Bushwick. Meet folks who have been sucessfully growing a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs & flowers for over 20 years.
Witness and learn the many wonderful ways that many Brooklynites are living green & gently communing with nature.
Learn the ins and outs of beekeeping, raising chickens, composting and rainwater harvesting.
Riders of all ages are invited to explore these vibrant green open spaces on bike or on foot at your own pace. Feel free to explore all ten gardens on the tour or just a few.
We also welcome non bikers to walk from garden to garden or meet us at our last stop at the Classon Ful-Gate Garden located on Classon Avenue between Madison and Monroe.
For a lively end of summer free garden party which will feature live music, games, food and fun times for all.
The Garden Party will feature tasty and delicious beverages and treats from Brooklyn's best vendors including Witches Brew and Tasty Cakes.
