The National Arts Club is thrilled to host a virtual event with Katie Hafner, author of The Boys, in conversation with bestselling author Gary Shteyngart.

Katie Hafner is best known as a journalist, who was a New York Times staff writer for 10 years and is the author of seven books, ranging from The House at the Bridge: A Story of Modern Germany (1995), the history of a 150-year-old villa located on the famous Glienicke Bridge, to a tome on the Internet’s birth (Where Wizards Stay up Late: The Origins of the Internet, written with her late husband, Matthew Lyon). The Boys, a pitch perfect rendering of the inner and outer life of Ethan Fawcett, a nerdy introvert, is her debut novel. In her beautifully written story, Hafner not only creates complex and compelling characters, but a unique and original narrative with a truly astonishing central twist. As The New York Times wrote, “Katie Hafner’s taut and utterly delightful debut is a novel of multitudes….What a wonder of storytelling.”
