THE BOSTON SAENGERFEST MEN’S CHORUS 25TH GALA ANNIVERSARY CONCERT celebrates our rich singing tradition of the past 25 years, joined by internationally acclaimed opera singer Ute Gfrerer, conductors Haydn James, Michael Driscoll, Ron Schiller, and Music Director Tom Berryman and Assistant Music Director Brendon Shapiro in a program of cherished music from our first quarter-century, plus a few surprises!

Please join us at historic Cary Hall in Lexington center at 3:00PM, April 23, 2017! There is plenty of free parking behind the building.

Haydn James is a conductor/arranger with many years experience in the world of choral music. For twelve years, he conducted The Dylan Singers and for the following thirty years, was Musical Director of The London Welsh Male Voice Choir; also, for five years Haydn travelled to Wales to direct The South Wales Male Choir, one of the largest choirs in the Principality. He will be joining us for our concert on April 23rd at 3pm at Cary Hall in Lexington!

Ron Schiller is President of the Cornell University Glee Club Alumni Board. He has served on the Cornell University Council and on the boards of the American Friends of Covent Garden, Chicago’s Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Aspen’s Buddy Program, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Salt Bay Chamberfest, and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Ron studied conducting, composition, and arranging with Karel Husa, Thomas Sokol, Gregory Woodward, and David Conte. From 1987 until 1994, he served as associate director and acting director of choral music at Cornell University, where he conducted the Cornell Chorale, Cornell Chorus, and Cornell University Glee Club in performances throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He will be conducting a few pieces at our 25th anniversary concert on April 23rd at Cary Hall!

Michael Driscoll is Director of Choirs at Brookline High School. In the fall of 2013, he was appointed Music Director of the Andover Choral Society. He is the Lead Musicianship Teacher for the Handel & Haydn Society’s Vocal Arts Program for children and high school students. With H&H he develops and oversees the musicianship curriculum and trains and supervises the musicianship faculty. Driscoll was Music Director of Boston Saengerfest Men’s Chorus for twelve years. He will be conducting a few pieces at our 25th anniversary concert on April 23rd at Cary Hall!
