Description

Over four Friday evenings in May and June The Border Line presents its inaugural film program in a garden under the stars on Miriwoong country.

The program will commence on Friday the 10th May with Chauka, Please Tell Us the Time a film produced by Behrouz Boochani & Arash Kamali Sarvestanion on a mobile phone and smuggled out of Australia's Manus Prison system. Through an expertly crafted cinematic narrative, this film tells the story, at once violent and banal, of Australia's offshore detention centre from within it.

Entry is by donation: pay what you can. Arrive 6:45pm for a 7pm start. Bring something to sit on - a picnic rug, a chair, a swag. Discussion will follow.

Read an interview with the filmmakers here.

Other films in the upcoming program include:

17th May 2019: Disaster Capitalism
by Antony Loewenstein

7th June 2019: Red Ant Dream
by Sanjay Kak

21st June 2019: TERROR NULLIUS
by Soda Jerk
