About this event
The Bob Clem Trail at Frost Fish Creek
Date and Time: Friday, May 13 at 10am
Distance: 1.1 miles
Guides: Beth Taylor and Linda Nixon
Join CCF Trustees Beth Taylor and Linda Nixon for a walk through the breathtaking trails of Frost Fish Creek, highlighting the unique geological features and rich history of these wetlands. CCF acquired all of the almost 50 acres that now protect Frost Fish Creek over a span of 33 years.
The 1.1 mile walking trail meanders along the edge of the Frost Fish Creek, offering walkers glimpses of an old cranberry operation which has reverted into open wetlands. With its unique configuration featuring brackish freshwater tidal wetland over viewed from upland pine/oak woodlands, this area offers the most varied and numerous opportunities to experience seasonal bird and mammal life in our area.
Your guides:
Beth Taylor: Beth’s advanced degree in ecology has enhanced her enjoyment of Chatham’s natural areas for over 40 years.
Linda Nixon: Linda is a self-described “tree hugger” and has been learning about the natural environment of Chatham since she moved here 25 years ago.
Special Notes:
Please wear shoes that can be worn in mud, and dress appropriately for ticks: light-colored pants tucked into socks and use bug repellent around ankles.
Please Note:
- Ticket sales are final - no refunds.
- You will be notified by telephone if the walk must be cancelled because of inclement weather, and your ticket(s) will be fully refunded.
- Meeting details and directions will be provided upon purchase of tickets.
