Description

The Bloom Worship Experience, with Kierra Sheard and J.J. Hairston featuring Sherice Tomlin. The concert will take place May 23, 2020 8pm at the Takoma Park SDA Church, 6951 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park, MD. Doors Open 7pm. All seating is first-come-first-served within the designated area of the ticket purchased.

Grammy nominated, Dove and Stellar award winning artist, Kierra Sheard, is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Kierra's mother is Karen Clark-Sheard, a gospel vocalist best known for her work with the Clark Sisters; her father is Bishop J. Drew Sheard, a well-known author, speaker, and worship leader; and her grandmother was the respected and influential choral director Mattie Moss Clark. Growing up in a musical family, Kierrabegan singing early in life, and she made her recording debut when she was just ten years old, with guest appearances on two numbers on her mother's first solo effort, 1997's Finally Karen. One of those songs, "The Will of God," won a Stellar Award for Best Children's Performance, while the other, "The Safest Place," became a favorite on gospel radio.

Gospel singer James "JJ" Hairston is the leader, chief songwriter, and director of the Youthful Praise choir, known for its exuberant, urban-tinged gospel and praise & worship songs. Formed in 2001 out of Turner's Faith Temple in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the choir was originally known as Teens of TFT, and released a debut album, Awesome God, that same year on Evidence Gospel. A second album, Thank You for the Change, which featured a guest spot by Coko, arrived in 2004, followed by Live! The Praise...The Worship, a year later in 2005.

Exalted

Television appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Bobby Jones Gospel, and performances with Joan Osborne, Shirley Caesar, and Destiny's Child increased the choir's visibility and fan base, as did its exuberant, energetic live shows and urban affinities. Exalted, recorded live in Baltimore, Maryland, was released on both CD and DVD in 2007. It would be five years before their next album, After This, arrived in the spring of 2012, with I See Victory following two years later in 2014. In 2016, the single "You Deserve It" heralded the release of the next album by Hairston and Youthful Praise. The album, also called You Deserve It, appeared in March 2017 with featured appearances by Maranda Willis, Travis Greene, and Bishop Cortez Vaughn. Hairston returned in 2019 with the full-length Miracle Worker.

Sherice Tomlin is a native of Bronx, NY, and a daughter of Jamaican parents. She is a proud graduate of Oakwood University, where she sang with the renowned Dynamic Praise gospel choir. She has ministered alongside the likes of Tramaine Hawkins, Judith McAlister, Maurette Brown-Clarke, John Stoddart, Duawne Starling, Wintley Phipps, Committed, Amber Bulluck, Minister Earl Byum and many more.

In addition to my personal vocal music ministry, She is a celebrated choir director and worship leader. She serves as Minister of Music for the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in the District of Columbia, and at the Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hyattsville, MD.

Ms. Tomlin has recorded two albums: Without You, Lord; and Just Like Heaven. Fans can look forward to a new album in the near future.
