Come join us for one of a series of seminars where we dive deep into grapes, places, brews, and spirits. Each seminar involves tasting and exploring what it is that makes them so unique. Guided by a member of our staff, these seminars are a chance to share our passion and geekiness for all things fermented, brewed, and distilled with those who are curious. A seat at the table costs $35. Participants receive $20 in store credit and a 10% discount off anything featured in the discussion.
Each individual seminar is $35; a set of three is $75.
The Blind Tasting Game – February 5, 2017 @ 1:00 p.m. – Is this wine oaked or not? How does a vintage influence the characteristics of the wine? Has this wine been aged? Nick Stengel, a student at the Institute of the Masters of Wine, will present six wines in pairs and guide you through the process of how to think about the specifics of tasting wine. Included in the tasting will be a pair of sparkling wines, can you taste the difference in method? A young and old wine will see if you can decipher the development imparted only by time. Two wines from the same vintage will also challenge your perceptions of what you are tasting. No pressure - hints will be provided and table talk is encouraged! Don't think of it as a test, but rather an introduction to a new way of thinking about wine.
