Event description

Description

For the first time ever, an all-male, Black ballet aims to tackle racism in America. The OASIS Dance Co. presents its ballet "Black Leaves,” a project that follows the journey of seven Black men, and their experiences with racism in America.

Through artistic expression we intend to create a dialogue on race in America, while working towards a better understanding and a harmonious society. "Black Leaves" is the collective voices, interpretations, and presentations of men within the Black community, demonstrating their common threads of experience within the community. Through the artistic mediums of live documented interviews, dance, and poetry, the heritage and voice of the “Black man” will be brought to light.
