The B.L.A.C.K Course is facilitating the 45 Hour Lactation Course led by and for aspiring Black lactation professionals and Non Black Accomplices supporting Black Communities. The Course will be taught virtually; Wednesday, June 21 - Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Class will not be held on Saturday and Sunday.
This cohort is Exclusive to Alameda County residents and/or Individuals providing services to Alameda County children ages 0-5 and their families. This training costs $750 per registrant. Through the generous support of First 5 Alameda County, this training will be free to those who reside in Alameda County and those who support and provide services to children 0-5 and families in Alameda County.
This 45 hours course qualifies towards to IBLCE 95 lactation specific educational hours required for the IBCLC exam. CEUs will be provided to those who request them. CERPS are not provides at this time.
Please Note:
- Students must attend all sessions to receive 45 lactation education hours.
- We suggest birth workers schedule back up support for births as you will be held to attendance requirements.
- Registered students will receive an email once registration closes, that includes course requirements including information about homework, evaluations, quiz, and participation.
- Course Topics: Breastfeeding via the diaspora view, the effects of generational oppression and racism on breastfeeding, Anatomy, Counseling, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, and more!
- The B.L.A.C.K. Course is not affiliated with any other training program and cannot confirm if our hours qualify towards another programs requirements.
