About this Event

The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL), Inc., is a multi-discipline arts institution whose mission is to create and enhance an awareness and understanding of artistic, cultural and aesthetic differences utilizing the framework of African, African American and Caribbean Arts and Letters. Notable artists and cultural icons such as Lou Goussett, Ruby Dee, Maya Angelou, Halle Berry, T.C. Carson, Erykah Badu, David Mann, Regina Taylor, and many more have either studied, supported, or shared their gifts at the academy.

Join the University Libraries as we welcome Curtis King, Founder and President, of TBAAL, for an engaging conversation on the history, struggles, and accomplishments of the academy and African-Americans in the Arts.

This event is free and open to the public.
