Event description

Description

Travel back to the old Station Hotel location in Richmond. Hear about that fateful meeting with the 'four headed monster' and how it influenced the meteoric rise to fame of the greatest rock band of all time!

Tours start from outside the front entrance to the Victoria & Albert Museum on the Cromwell Road, just 5 minutes walk from South Kensington Tube Station.

Keith Richards wrote “My favourite place was the Station Hotel, Richmond, just because everything really kicked off from there.” You can now pay homage to The Rolling Stones with a visit to where Bill Wyman called “our spiritual home” on these award-winning guided tours to the Station Hotel location on an iconic 60s Routemaster double-decker bus.

You’ll pass by their homes and haunts and visit other celebrated venues where they and many other superstars from the 60s also found fame in this enclave of West London... all to a backdrop of live commentary and Rolling Stones music.

Pass by their first squalid flat in Edith Grove and the nearby location where Bill Wyman auditioned for the band in 1962. Visit the Half Moon pub in Putney where they performed at a private party as recently as 2000... and the celebrated Olympic Studios where The Stones recorded many albums, on your way to the Crawdaddy Club, Eel Pie Island and National Jazz and Blues Festival locations. You'll also see the house that Mick shared with Jerry Hall in the 1990s and take in the views they would have woken up to from the top of Richmond Hill.

This 3.5 hour tour ends opposite Richmond train/tube station with fast and frequent services to all parts of London.
