You already knew Cleveland was the birthplace of Rock & Roll. There's a sign out front of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that says so. Everyone knows Alan Freed invented the term and hosted the first ever rock concert in Cleveland.

But tonight, one local band, Vanity Crash, will tell the story of a whole lot of other local bands that were inventing punk rock right here in Cleveland, Akron & Kent, Ohio, years before you heard it in London or New York. Tonight you'll hear epic tunes by bands like Rocket From The Tombs, Dead Boys, The Pagans, Devo and The Pretenders. And you'll hear some awesome songs by Vanity Crash.
