Event description

مشروع "نحن" الكبير

Arte por todos nosotros

THE BIG “US” PROJECT invites all of Houston to go on a journey. One hundred collaborators from Houston’s diverse refugee communities, including professional artists and first-time performers of all ages, have come together to create an unforgettable and uplifting performance. As you travel through the performance space, you will see through the eyes of actors, dancers, musicians, and visual artists from many cultures who now call Houston home. They will offer you their stories of hope and loss, fear and joy, making art and making a new life.

Tickets are free, but reservations are highly recommended as space is limited. Help us fund the project:

Read more about the project:

P.E.A.C.E. (Promoting Eastern Artisan Collaborative Effort) is a Houston community-run organization committed to the mission of providing refugees with opportunities to develop sustainable and successful home based businesses. By fusing their traditional heritage and culture into visual and preforming artisanal pieces, it is our goal to help refugees create effective means of providing for themselves and their families.

Experiencing the performance

The Southwest Multi-Service Center and the performance of THE BIG "US" PROJECT are accessible to all audience members. The performance takes place in several rooms of the venue. Ushers will direct audience members in walking from one room of the venue to the next. Please let us know in advance if you use a wheelchair or need assistance moving from room to room.

Chairs will be available in each space for those who prefer not to stand for long periods.

Please wear comfortable shoes.

You may be offered food, something to drink, and/or an opportunity to participate, but you may decline. Food is vegetarian and drinks are non-alcoholic.

When you check in at THE BIG “US” PROJECT, you will receive a token that assigns you to a group and lets the ushers know that you are not an actor.
