Come on out to Big Tex Gym in Austin, Texas on Saturday 1/11/20 to test your mettle on some classic Strongman events. There will be vendors/sponsors, music, food, games and fun for both competitors and spectators alike! Check out the details below!

Entry Deadline: Entries will be taken until the contest starts but you must enter by 12/21/19 to be guaranteed a contest T shirt.

Rules Meeting: 930am (ALL ATHLETES MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE TO COMPETE)

Weigh-in: Friday 1/10/20 from 8am-10am and 5pm-7pm. 1/11/20 from 8a-9am

Awards: Trophies & goodie bags for 1-3rd place in all divisions/classes. Cash prize for top OPEN male and female competitors.

Novice Women: LW (<165) and HW (166+)

Events:

1.) Log and axle clean and press medley

2.) Deadlift Medley (farmers x 3, Barbell x 2, Axle Wagon Wheel x 1)

3.) Max Axle Zercher Squat Out of a Rack

4.) Yoke x max distance x 60 seconds

5.) Stone load over bar x max reps x 60 seconds


EVENT 1- Log/Axle clean and press

Rules:

*Athlete can start at either implement with hands OFF until judge signals the start.

*60 second time limit from judge's signal to get as many reps as possible alternating between the axle and log. Athlete must clean and press each rep.

*Wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk, grip shirts, belt with buckle or lever to back ALLOWED.

*Straps, suits, tacky/tacky towels, elbow/knee wraps NOT ALLOWED.

*NO resting axle on belt. Judge has discretion.

*elbows/knees must be extended and feet must be parallel to get the "down" call from judge. Must wait for down call for rep to be counted.

*strict press, push press, push jerk, power jerk, split jerk ALLOWED.

EVENT 2- Deadlift Medley

Rules:

*Athlete must complete the medley in this order: Farmers DL x 3 reps, Barbell DL from floor x 2 reps, Axle Wagon Wheel DL (13" pick height) x 1 rep.

*60 second time limit from the Judge's "Go" command.

*Athletes must start with hands off implements. If using straps, athlete must strap in after time has begun

*Athletes will be given a down AND up command...no "touch and go"

*Straps, belt, knee/elbow sleeves,chalk, wrist wraps, hitching ALLOWED

*Tacky/tacky towel, knee/elbow wraps, suits NOT ALLOWED

EVENT 3-Max Axle Zercher Squat From a Rack

Rules:

*Athlete has 60 seconds for each attempt. Athlete can take as many attempts during the 60 seconds as they like.

*Athlete will unrack Axle, step back and be given a "squat" command...after rep is complete athlete will be given a "rack" command. Athlete must wait for commands for rep to be counted.

*Belt to back, chalk, knee/elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, forearm sleeves with NO tacky ALLOWED.

*Suits, tacky/tacky towel, knee/elbow wraps NOT ALLOWED

*Hamstrings must break parallel for a "good" lift. This is at the Judge's discretion.

*Axle/elbows cannot FULLY rest on thighs or belly at the bottom. If they briefly touch that is fine.

Event 4- Yoke x Max Distance x 60 seconds

Rules:

*Athlete will have 60 seconds to get as much distance as possible.

*The course will be 30' each way with a re pick on each end. The front end of the yoke must cross the line on each end before dropping, re picking and changing directions.

*Unlimited drops.

*Belt, wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk ALLOWED.

*Suits, elbow/knee wraps, tacky/tacky towel NOT ALLOWED

*5' slide penalty. If the Judge determines there is excess sliding a penalty of 5' subtracted from overall distance will be assessed.

Event 5- Stone load over bar

Rules:

*60 second time limit. Most reps wins.

*Athletes will start with wrists on cross bar.

*Wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, tape/forearm sleeves, chalk, tacky/tacky towel, belt to back, grip shirts ALLOWED.

*Suits, elbow/knee wraps NOT ALLOWED.

*Athletes cannot gain leverage by grabbing/touching or stepping up onto the yoke. Stone is ALLOWED to touch crossbar.

*46" bar for Novice/Masters Women. 48" bar for Novice/Masters Men and Open Women. 50" bar for Open Men.
