Big Tex Gym is proud to bring you The Big Tex Winter Rumble 2.0!!

Come on out to Big Tex Gym in Austin, Texas on Saturday 1/26/19 to test your mettle on some classic Strongman events. There will be vendors/sponsors, music, food, games and fun for both competitors and spectators alike! THE NATIONAL AXLE CLEAN AND PRESS RECORD WILL BE UP FOR GRABS!!! Who will walk away with the new USS Axle clean and press record?? Check out the details below!

Entry Deadline: Entries will be taken until the contest starts but you must enter by 1/5/19 to be guaranteed a contest T shirt.

Rules Meeting: 930am (ALL ATHLETES MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE TO COMPETE)

Weigh-in: Friday 1/25/19 from 8am-10am and 5pm-7pm. 1/26/19 from 8a-9am

Divisions: **Weight classes will be combined if there are less than 5 competitors signed up**

Novice Women: LW (<165) and HW (166+)

Novice Men: LW (<220) and HW (221+)

Open Women: LW (<132), MW (133-165), HW (166-198), SHW (199+)

Open Men: LW(<181), MW (182-198, 199-220), HW (221-242, 243-275), SHW (276-308, 309+)

Adaptive/disabled: Seated & Standing

Events:

1.) Max axle clean and press (National Record up for grabs)

2.) Nightmar Muscle Max distance in 60 seconds H-stone carry

3.) Axle Deadlift x max reps in 60 seconds (Seated division will not do this event)

4.) Hammer Front hold x max time

5.) Stone/keg carry and load over bar medley


EVENT 1- Max axle clean and press (National record up for grabs)

Rules:

*3 attempts. Wessels rule in effect...miss an attempt and you're out.

*60 second time limit from judge's signal. Take as many attempts as you like within the 60 second period.

*Wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk, grip shirts, belt with buckle or lever to back ALLOWED.

*Straps, suits, tacky/tacky towels, elbow/knee wraps NOT ALLOWED.

*NO resting axle on belt. Judge has discretion.

*elbows/knees must be extended and feet must be parallel to get the "down" call from judge. Must wait for down call for rep to be counted.

*strict press, push press, push jerk, power jerk, split jerk ALLOWED.

EVENT 2- Max distance H-stone

Rules:

*Athlete has 60 seconds to get as much distance as possible. Distance will be taken where stone is when time expires OR if it is dropped before the time limit expires.

*Implement must be carried to the front of the body.

*IMPLEMENT WILL BE PICKED FROM THE GROUND

*Gloves, elbow/knee sleeves, belt with buckle or lever to back, forearm sleeves/athletic tape (sleeves cannot have tacky on them), grip shirts, chalk, wrist wraps ALLOWED

*Tacky/tacky towel, knee/elbow wraps, suits NOT ALLOWED

*One foot must cross the line on each end (each lap will be 30-40' long)

EVENT 3- Axle Deadlift

Rules:

*Athlete has 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible.

*Athlete will receive a down AND up command. NO touch and go.

*Straps, belt, chalk, knee/elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, hitching ALLOWED

*Suits, tacky/tacky towel, knee/elbow wraps NOT ALLOWED

*Standard height (9" pick)

Event 4- Hammer front hold

Rules:

*Max time wins.

*Arms must remain slightly above parallel (judge's discretion) or time will stop.

*Both hands must be touching with hands stacked on top of one another.

*No excessive arching back (judge's discretion).

*Belt, wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk ALLOWED.

*Suits, elbow/knee wraps, tacky/tacky towel NOT ALLOWED

Event 5- Stone/Keg carry and load medley

Rules:

*60 second time limit.

*Athletes can start at the first implement with hands OFF stone.

*Wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk, tacky towel, belt to back, grip shirts ALLOWED.

*Tacky, suits, elbow/knee wraps NOT ALLOWED.

*Must be done in this order: lighter stone, heavier stone, lighter keg, heavier keg.

*Athletes cannot gain leverage by grabbing/touching or stepping up onto the yoke.

*Fastest time or most implements successfully loaded wins. Distance WILL NOT be taken for unfinished implements.

*All implements will start 10' from the bar. 48" bar for Open Men, 46" bar for Open Women, 46" bar for Novice Men, 44" for Novice Women
