The Benefits of Gratitude & Positive Affirmations
The purpose of this virtual discussion-based workshop is to increase participants' understanding of the benefits of gratitude and positive affirmations and how they can impact the other areas of our lives and overall well-being.
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
Learn the different names used for positive affirmations and create their own;
Be able to explain at least two of the seven scientifically proven benefits of gratitude;
Become familiar with the framework of the eight dimensions of wellness and recognize that all areas of their lives are not independent of each other; and
Have an increased understanding of the benefits of journaling.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Shawnta Jackson is that person who leaves a lasting impression. She motivates, challenges, and provides thought provoking dialogue. She is a leader, mother, author, internet talk show host, and the founder of Cause Engagement Associates LLC, a national firm that provides consultation and professional services in the areas of strategy, program implementation, engagement, research and evaluation, dissemination, and the promotion of socially conscious initiatives.
In an effort to help people to help themselves and others, she uses her background in social and behavioral health to facilitate discussions and give presentations based on her lived and professional experiences. She helps audiences to explore their inner most thoughts and the world around them through the process of journaling, positive-thinking, self-exploration, life visioning, and striving for success.
Shawnta holds a Master of Public Health degree in social and behavioral health from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from Columbia College Chicago. Shawnta is originally from Las Vegas and resides in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area with her son, Zachary.
Using topics from her self-published books, "The Journal of a Woman with Lived Experiences" and "The Resilience of a Woman," the intended benefits of Shawnta's programs include:
