This class will cover the basics of growing succulents and cacti, and the art of xeriscaping. Discover which plants do well in Florida, as well as winter versus summer care. We will discuss succulents in the ground versus succulents in pots, and which potting media is best. We will also discuss light requirements, correct container type and size, how to get them to bloom, dividing, propagating and nutritional needs.
Dr. Larry Apotheker has traveled extensively collecting and importing plants from Mexico, Fiji, Bali, Micronesia, Spain, Portugal, Africa, Hawaii and Thailand. He grows many species but focuses now on rare African succulents and orchids.
