Overview

Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) threaten patient safety across the continuum of care making it imperative for healthcare personnel to practice infection control. This free two-day course teaches standard precautions and setting-specific infection control concepts. Participants will learn from subject matter experts in an interactive, hands-on learning environment.

Objectives

  • Discuss the importance of infection control in healthcare
  • Learn standard precautions
  • Review regulatory requirements that impact infection prevention
  • Learn the basic components of an infection prevention program

Day 1: March 6

Will cover standard precautions and components of an infection control program.

Day 2: March 7

Will cover infection control concepts for your specific healthcare setting.

Audience

Course content was developed for frontline staff that are new to infection control activities or role (less than one year), from skilled nursing facilities, ambulatory clinics, and hospitals.

Continuing Education

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #16180, for 6 contact hours for one day only and 12 contact hours for days one and two.
