Event description

Description

A community activist named Queen is so afraid of being labeled “The Angry Black Woman” that she has taken a back seat to the leadership role in her community. Although some say she is the key to her community’s rise, her words are often met with resistance and hostility. On the edge of giving up on her vision, Queen is suddenly swept away on a whimsical journey leaping worlds, historical events and time periods where she ultimately finds herself in a land called The City of Chaos. In a clash between cultures, belief systems and economic classes, this troubled community is tangled in a web of violence, colorism, classism, female degradation and the need for white approval. However, as Queen begins to question old ways and beliefs of the community, once again, she finds that her words are not welcomed with open arms, especially by its King. Queen soon discovers that her vision will require her to unapologetically own that she was born to be a leader. Will a troubled people awaken and consider Queen’s vision, words and new ways of thinking, or will they choose to remain as they are in an endless battle with each other upon the doorsteps of white approval?
