Overview

Get ready to meet your favorite writers up close and personal at The Author Next Door, where literature comes to life!

You may be aware that a famous writer like Michael Chabon grew up in Longfellow and that the best-selling novelist Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie spends half the year in Columbia, but do you know about the surprising number of local authors working in our community?

The U.S. publishing ecosystem is a vast pyramid, with thousands of serious writers striving to have their work published every year. Howard County’s literary magazine, the Little Patuxent Review, is a vital part of that system.

The Little Patuxent Review will sponsor an evening in which we’ll interview four authors who live in Columbia. They will talk about their work, their methods of publishing, and their ambitions.

Stay tuned for the list of authors!
