Description

Attention All Teacher Candidates

The Arts Made Easy!

Drama, Movement, and Visual Arts Workshop for All Teacher Candidates!

Do you feel like there could be more magic to teaching? Are you looking for ways to engage your students in meaningful, connected learning? Do you want them actively engaged in what they are exploring? Here’s the workshop to take!

The arts connect deeply to many modern pedagogical approaches, but are often under-used and under-taught. Participate in this two-day intensive, and explore:

~ How the arts develop the skills needed to be a successful ‘Modern Learner’!

~ How to engage learners in inquiry-based learning, and develop literacy skills!

~ The strategies needed to create a truly collaborative classroom community!

This two day intensive is immensely practical and hands-on! You will leave with numerous concrete strategies that you can immediately implement in your teaching practice. All strategies explored are adaptable no matter what age you teach.

Lead facilitator Sheena D. Robertson is an expert in this field and much in demand as an artist, a facilitator, and an expert trainer of teachers and artists!

“This was unbelievable! Thank you and the rest of the class for such an experience! It was just what I needed, and I leave feeling refreshed, exhilarated, and full of hope!” ~ Adele Sequin (Teacher)

“Sheena's ability to give feedback is unparalleled. During my master's thesis my supervisor was an expert on feedback, and he was good, but Sheena is on a whole different level; Her ability to give feedback is therapeutic. On multiple occasions, I was in awe at how she was able to carry out student transformations. She was able to perfectly pinpoint certain key moments in class and completely encourage student growth with her kind and true words. I consider myself privileged to have been able to experience this process first hand. Thanks a lot Sheena for this wonderful journey.” ~ Dylan Guarda (Teacher)

"Working with Sheena has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that can be created in a classroom setting when using an arts-based approach to teaching. Sheena has taught me how to turn the classroom into a place where students are completely engaged and able to make critical connections to the world around them.” ~ Julia Gutowski (Teacher Candidate, OISE)
