Tour Description

Tour Host: Alison Therriault

Public Dreams presents a scholarly investigation of public displays of creativity in the Mount Pleasant area.

From galleries to gardens, from the glorious to the gaudy, how do citizens go beyond utility to put their own personal stamp on the urban environment? What are the bylaws and social norms that separate art from eyesore? And what about those chickens?

This and more shall be revealed through rigorous pseudoscientific methods, led by the unsinkable Dr. Storey, your guide and leading pseudoscientist with the FrayBro Institute.

Tour Host Bio

Alison Therriault is an artist and performer who has worked with the Public Dreams Society for the past four years. She is excited to explore a little known area of Mount Pleasant and the nuggets of genius contained therein.

Organizer

Jane's Walk

Jane's Walk is held simultaneously in cities across Canada and other countries around the world. Inspired by Jane Jacob's and her belief that in order to know your city "you have to get out and walk," Jane's Walk is a simple idea. It is free, it connects people and builds communities by promoting urban literacy and citizen engagement.
