Lindsey Carneal and Alan Simmons

Together, Lindsey Carneal and Alan Simmons own and direct Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art, a gallery and art consultancy representing emerging and mid-career artists as well as providing art advisory services to private collectors, healthcare institutions, corporations, and developers. Previously named Alan Simmons Art + Design, the business started in 2009 out of the living room of Alan’s downtown loft. CSCA has since moved to the Dallas Design District where it has been in operation for the past 7 years.

With their combined art advising experience, Alan and Lindsey have consulted on luxury resorts, multifamily housing, Fortune 500 corporate offices, numerous residences, and two presidential libraries. Most notable is their work developing the art collection at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital since 2012. This ongoing project consists of over 1.25 million square feet and over 3,000 already placed works, with plans for a 750,000 square foot expansion. Spencer Finch, Liam Gillick, Jun Kaneko, Hans Kotter, Damien Hirst, Sol Lewitt and Oil Sihvonen are among the artists in the collection at Clements University Hospital.

Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art makes a concentrated and continual effort towards community involvement. The gallery is a member of both Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas (CADD) and Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA), organizations that are concerned with ethics, education, and support for the arts. Additionally, Alan and Lindsey have been volunteering with Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) since 2013, serving as chairs of the art committee in 2017 and then curators for the Art for Advocacy auction in 2018.
