Hood Design Studio, in collaboration with Diller, Scofidio + Renfro and RAFT Landscape Architecture, has reimagined the original 1901 garden design by Richard Schermerhorn Jr. into a contemporary public space that is beautiful and accessible to all. The design honors the historic origins of the garden, while providing new spaces for seating, meeting, and an overall improved landscape experience. The garden will be open to the public free of charge daily and serve as a site for a variety of public programs and events.
