Description
A workshop and practice series to learn and practice how to work collaboratively to catalyze change
Given the complex challenges we face, it is becoming imperative to work across disciplines, organizations, and cultures to develop workable solutions. When collaboration is done well, a group can align around a shared intention, generate innovative solutions, and strengthen relationships and trust to support ongoing work.
This kind of collaboration is an art, but the skills and methods can be learned. Then we need to practice, in community.
This workshop will build your understanding and skills participating in and leading collaborative work. You will learn:
- Core personal and collective leadership qualities that support collaboration
- What is means to practice “collective sensemaking”
- The power of inquiry and listening
- How to create the conditions that enable people and groups to do their best thinking and experience the benefits of networked ways of working together
- Several participatory methods, and have opportunity to practice them
Beth Tener of New Directions Collaborative will facilitate, sharing methods she has practiced in work with over 150 organizations and collaborative initiatives, concerning socially responsible business, sustainability, local food systems, education, climate action, racial equity, and transportation.
This workshop is the second in a series. You can attend one or the series. It is offered with an intention to inspire, recharge, and “re-source” people, particularly in these intense times. We chose a special location for the event – the Seacoast Science Center, located in Ordione State Park, a beautiful meeting room with stone walls, overlooking the ocean. It is located about 15 minutes south of Portsmouth, NH and an hour north of Boston.
Following the afternoon workshop, we invite the group to take a walk by the ocean to continue the conversations.
Workshop fee is $100. Please click on TICKETS to register.
If this fee is a barrier to participating, please contact Beth at btener@ndcollaborative.com - discounts are available to make this accessible to all interested.
