Description

A workshop and practice series to learn and practice how to work collaboratively to catalyze change

Activating the full potential within an organization, community, or network requires us to see how our work fits into a larger whole and how we can connect what are often fragmented “parts.” Some wisdom, collective strength, and innovative solutions can only be accessed when we engage and connect people from many parts of an organization, community, or system.

Yet, methods to work “as an ecosystem” are rarely taught or emphasized in leadership training. The skills and methods can be learned – and then we need to practice, in community

After working with many collaborative initiatives and seeking out tools and processes, Beth Tener of New Directions Collaborative, has combined what she has learned in this introductory workshop to build skills in working as an ecosystem. In this workshop, you will learn:

  • Principles of how systems work
  • Practical tools to help people “see the system” and make relationships visible
  • Participatory processes for how to connect and cross-pollinate the work and wisdom of diverse perspectives
  • How and why accessing and engaging marginalized voices is critical to this work

She will share case studies and stories of collaborative initiatives to illustrate how these ideas and ways of working are being put into practice.

This workshop is the third in a series. You can attend one or the series. It is offered with an intention to inspire, recharge, and “re-source” people, particularly in these intense times.

We chose a special location for the event – the Seacoast Science Center, located in Ordione State Park, a beautiful meeting room with stone walls, overlooking the ocean. It is located about 15 minutes south of Portsmouth, NH and an hour north of Boston.

Following the afternoon workshop, we invite the group to take a walk by the ocean to continue the conversations.

Workshop fee is $100. Please click on TICKETS to register.

If this fee is a barrier to participating, please contact Beth at btener@ndcollaborative.com - discounts are available to make this accessible to all interested.
