llona Damasiute-Beres was born in Lithuania and received B.A. and M.A. degrees at the Lithuanian Academy of Music in Vilnius, receiving formal training as a concert pianist, accompanist, chamber music performer and teacher under renowned professors A. Radvilaite and P. Geniusas.

Since moving to Canada in 1995, she has been active as a vocal coach and piano accompanist for various ensembles, Lithuanian choirs, and well-known artists such as Kornel Wolak (clarinet), Juan Gabriel Olivares (clarinet), Megan Lindsay (soprano), Vaidas Visniauskas (tenor), Atis Bankas (violin), Peter Cosby (cello), and others.

Ilona has performed in Europe, US and Canada. She was invited to represent Canada in Lithuania Sugrizimai 2003, and in 2018, she performed in the “Pasaulio balsai” festival in Lithuania with the famous Lithuanian National String Quartet “Vilnius”. In 2014 Ilona founded the Zephyr Piano Trio with whom she toured in a series of concerts in Lithuania.

Ms. Beres served as Artistic Director of the Humbercrest concert series, was a member of the Calyx Chamber Ensemble, joined the faculty of the Midsummer Music by the Lake Festival, and performed at the Niagara International Chamber Music Festival. In 2006 she served as artistic director for the popular "Village Rhapsody" concert series in Bloor West Village. She has also given several concerts in the Toronto area with the Zephyr Piano Trio.

Ms. Beres has a successful private studio in Toronto and is the accompanist for the Volunge Lithuanian Choir
