The Art of the Modern Drink: Spring Cocktails of the Farmers Market

Join CUESA and the San Francisco chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild (USBG)for a very special evening in which cocktail glasses become canvases in the Ferry Building's Grand Hall. In this exciting collaboration with SFMOMA, we'll challenge an all-star lineup of local bartenders and chefs to channel their inner Alexander Calder, Olafur Eliasson, or Cindy Sherman by creating drinks and hors d'oeuvres inspired by the museum's collection, using the palette of the spring farmers market.
Imagine a drink with Rothko-like layers derived from strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, or an apricot dessert with the bright pop and sticky sweetness of a Thiebaud. While you stroll through the gallery of flavors, SFMOMA will share reproductions of the modern artworks that served as the inspiration for each original sip and bite.
Guests receive two full-sized signature cocktails made with G'vine Gin Floraison & Rum Diplomatico, 11 sample-sized drinks, and delicious hors d'oeuvres from eight of the Bay Area's hottest chefs. There will also be interactive games and a photo booth to round out the fun.
Two and a half hours of arty, delicious fun—could it lead to your 15 minutes of fame?
Tickets: $45, inclusive of all food and drink.

CUESA manages the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market at the Ferry Building in San Francisco (Saturday 8am-2pm, and Tuesday & Thursday 10am-2pm), and the Jack London Square Farmers Market in Oakland (Sunday 9am-2pm). CUESA’s markets are certified farmers markets renowned for diverse offerings of high-quality, delicious local products.
