About this Event

Telehealth has recently been put into widespread use due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Providing care via telehealth is not as easy as just treating via video; it requires combining advanced clinical decision-making, creativity and practice to safely and effectively treat patients. Learning how to perform a patient examination without our hands is of paramount importance to providing optimal care. With the rapid rise in telehealth care, there is not a large body of evidence for clinicians to reference regarding best practice. This 2-part program has been developed by the staff at Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation and Performance as a practical guide to assist clinicians. The concepts presented have been designed to facilitate and establish best practice and are the first steps to ensure that therapists have the tools to provide quality telehealth examinations.

The live webinar will look at body-region specific red flag questions and camera set up, as well as objective testing examples and functional movement assessment with consideration for efficiency. Evidenced-based values and pathology considerations are highlighted to assist with clinical decision-making and documentation.

For the breakout virtual training lab, choose a body region of interest and experience a telehealth examination with an expert physical therapist from Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation and Performance. This interactive opportunity will guide you through an examination with opportunity to engage in clinical reasoning and decision-making.
