The Art of Saving Sea Turtles is inspired by Turtles About Town – a community-based project that showcases the city of Galveston and the conservation efforts of Turtle Island Restoration Network while boosting economic growth and tourism.

Working with the residents and visitors of Galveston Island, we ensure protection of sea turtles and a broad defense of the ocean habitat. Each 5-foot 3-inch sea turtle sculpture is painted and adorned by a local artist to create public art within the city that brings awareness and charm to our island.

Proceeds benefit Turtle Island Restoration Network’s local sea turtle conservation and rescue programs. Learn more about Turtle Island Restoration Network at http://seaturtles.org

The Art of Saving Sea Turtles event made possible with the support of The Bryan Museum. Turtles About Town is a Turtle Island Restoration Network project in partnership with Clay Cup Studios.
