Learn how Madison's top cultural venue used PR tools to juggle stakeholder needs to navigate the pandemic. A behind-the-scenes tour follows.

About this event

Overture Center closed its doors in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in our community in March 2020, canceling all performances and events indefinitely. Learn about the vital role of communications during the most challenging and uncertain time in Overture’s history. Communications Director Shari Gasper will share how Overture engaged with its key publics during its closure, exceeded its “intermission” fundraising goal and cautiously reopened 18 months later. The discussion will be followed by a 45-minute, behind-the-scenes tour of Overture Center!

The free event will be held in the Promenade Lounge (second floor). Light food and beverages will be provided.

Overture Center for the Arts in downtown Madison, Wis., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization that features seven state-of-the-art performance spaces and four galleries where national and international touring artists, nine resident companies and hundreds of local artists engage people in nearly 700,000 educational and artistic experiences each year. With the vision to provide “Extraordinary Experiences for All,” Overture’s mission is to support and elevate our community’s creative culture, economy and quality of life through the arts.
