Learn to leverage the power of digital storytelling in your learning community.

About this Event

"Stories aren’t just fun escapism - they have an almost spooky ability to hold our attention while molding our thinking and behavior" - Jonathan Gottschall

Over the ages, the art of storytelling has had a tremendous power to capture imaginations, influence decisions, create memories and connect us with humanity. Even in our age of endless streams of information, there is a yearning for intelligence containing meaning, context and emotional understanding of the facts. A plethora scientific research show us that storytelling helps humans make those exact connections.

In this age of hyper information, storytelling is emerging as an essential power for communication skills. It is the act of telling a story of what we know and understand from an event or topic that enables our brains to organize a myriad of facts while also increasing long term “sticking power” with the author and their audiences.

In this day-long workshop, participants will explore how the power of storytelling can be used to develop impactful messages and influence people. They will dive into the elements and structure that make good storytelling possible, all the while focusing deeply on what gives soul and mojo to the life of their story. Participants will then bring their story-making to life with a hands-on digital production culminating in a special showcase of their work.
