John Martin, Director – Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities

The budget process is over for two more years and 2018 will mark the last full year of the Kasich Administration. Director Martin has served two consecutive administrations. He will discuss progress to date and plans what we have yet to accomplish before the end of this administration.

11:00 a.m. Our Changing Waivers

Lori Horvath, Deputy Director of Medicaid Services – Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities

Change seems to always be underway to make our Waivers more accommodating to their recipients. Even how we wait for services is undergoing major changes. Ms. Horvath will review changes occurring now and what to expect in 2018 as it relates to Ohio’s DD Waivers.

Jarrod Hunt, CEO - Wynn-Reeth, Inc., Jordan Wagner - Nisonger Center, The Ohio State University, David Lewis - The Arc of Ohio

Technology is improving the quality and independence of individuals with disabilities daily. A panel of experts will explain what is available; how it can be accessed; and, the positive outcomes of using technology to support those we love.

2:00 p.m. The Use of Self Directed Services in Our Current and Future Waivers

Rick Zwelling – Morning Sun Financial Services

Self Directed Homemaker Personal Care Services will be added to the IO and Level 1 Waivers and will replace Community Inclusion in the SELF Waiver on January 1, 2018. Mr. Zwelling will explain how those services will be approved and managed in preparation for the January implementation. He will also review the process for obtaining Goods and Services, currently available only through the SELF Waiver
