Event description
Qatar-America Institute will host a conversation with world-renowned Arabian horse breeder, Michael Byatt.

About this Event

The Qatar-America Institute invites you to “The Arabian Horse: Lore and Legend,” a cultural talk featuring the renowned Arabian breeder from Texas Michael Byatt, which will begin at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, January 28th at Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS).

Byatt is an internationally known Arabian horse breeder and rider who helped develop the incomparable Arabians at Qatar’s Al Shaqab equestrian center, which continues to influence breeding worldwide. Qatari-owned Platinum World Champion Stallion Hariry Al Shaqab will be on view on the HMNS sundial from 5:30pm-6:00pm, weather permitting.

Houston philanthropist and international style icon Lynn Wyatt will be a special guest at the event. Hariry Al Shaqab recently visited Mrs. Wyatt on the lawn of her Houston home.

The program will be moderated by Diana Untermeyer, author of Qatar: Sand, Sea and Sky, and cultural advisor to the Qatar-America Institute (QAI), an independent cultural and educational nonprofit organization that facilitates dialogue, research, and exchange concerning the relationship between Qatar and the United States.

“The Arabian Horse: Lore and Legend” is part of QAI’s Expressions Artist Talk series, which features American personalities, artists, and creatives who have lived or worked in Qatar and whose works are inspired and influenced by Qatari culture. The guest speakers share their own experiences and reflections, followed by questions and answers from the audience.
