Description

The Elwha River is the largest river on the peninsula and historically had the largest salmon runs until it was dammed in the early 1900’s. Now 100 years later the dams are gone – the largest dam removal in US history - and the salmon are returning to their original habitat. Indulge your inner scientist and sense of adventure as you visit the Elwha River and learn about the dams from historic, cultural, and scientific perspectives. You and your family will conduct scientific experiments in the Elwha River ecosystem, tour the lower Elwha River, experience restoration in action, and spend time relaxing on the beautiful shores of Lake Crescent.

Program activities and content will be geared towards students 4-12 years old. Families with children of other ages are welcome to attend the program and engage in the activities that are provided.

Tuition includes meals, lodging, and all educational experiences.
