Discover the background of the historic LGBTQ+ District of SF

About this Event

Join us for a day of fun exploring the historic Castro Neighborhood of San Francisco, the site of many LGBTQ+ historic events. You must be a UC Berkeley student to attend.

Priority is given to members of the Queer Cal Pals Program and Unity Theme Program. You must be a UC Berkeley student to attend this event. RSVP is required for participation. Space is limited so sign-up early.

You will be assigned teams, and you will race around the Castro collecting points by interacting with historic locations.

Transportation, breakfast, lunch, snacks, water, an AMAZING learning experience, and prizes for RACE winners will be provided. All you have to do is show up! (and bring a water bottle)

We will be meeting at GenEq at 9 am for breakfast and meeting each other! We will walk down to Downtown Berkeley and BART to 16th Street & Mission. Then, we will walk about 15 minutes to a community center in the Castro, which will act as our home base for the day. We will also feed you lunch. We will return you to Berkeley by 5:30pm.

There is a great amount of walking/moving around under (loose) time constraints. Some of the points of interest are 0.75 miles away from the home base. Please keep this in mind, and let us know if you will need accommodations.
