SMPTE-NY October 2012 Meeting

“The Advance of 4K Pro Monitors,
a View Towards What’s In Store”

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

There has been a great deal of interest in the advances in 4K-related flat panel video monitors among professionals. This has been steadily building, in part due to the proliferation of 4K cameras and camcorders over the past several years.

Three manufacturers will present overviews of their 4K pro monitor developments and technology including Dolby, Panasonic and TVLogic

Presenters are, respectively, Tom Mauro of Dolby, Michael Bergeron of Panasonic, and Wes Donahue of Preco, Inc., TVLogic’s USA distributor.

Douglas I. Sheer will introduce the speakers. Sheer is CEO and Chief Analyst of D.I.S. Consulting Corporation, publishers of Professional Displays World™ 2012, a global research report on displays, including those in 4K, who will provide an introduction. Sheer is also past chair of the N. Y. Section.

We will have 4K monitors on display with images. This event offers unique insights into the thinking and technology of the monitor makers. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer period with the panel.

Produced by Douglas I. Sheer, President, DIS Consulting Corp.
