ABOUT THE CLASS:
The Acting Process is an 8-week adult acting class led by Ian Short of Available Light Theatre.
Students will learn:
-Audition preparation and technique
-Scene study and script analysis
-A showcase to perform your monologues and scenes in front of Columbus professionals.
RECOMMENDED IF YOU:
-Want to dive deeper into character study and scene composition.
-Want to strengthen your audition skills
-Are looking for more after completing an introductory class.
-Wish to brush up after a break.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Ian Short is a founding member of Available Light Theatre and a BFA graduate of Otterbein University. He is an adjunct theatre professor at CCAD, has taught scene study and monologue classes for Broadway2LA and has taken workshops from the New York based SITI Company. Some of his recent AVLT roles have been in Pride and Prejudice, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe, The Life and Death of Richard the Third and Merrily We Roll Along. He has performed locally with CATCO, BalletMet, Gallery Players, Actor’s Theatre and has been the director at Gahanna Community Theatre for nine years. While living in New York, Ian performed at the Lincoln Center and was a guest artist on One Life to Live and the CBS series New York News. He has done numerous commercials and was in the feature film, Graduation.
